It's a colourful world

20 Jan

Maybe it’s because it’s no longer Monday, or that it’s not raining, or that Barack Obama is being sworn in today, but the world feels a little brighter. The perfect excuse, even if it is a little tenuous, to invest in the very colourful future map from The Future Mapping Company I’ve had my eye on.

These maps utilise a cylindrical equal area projection… (This is their blurb, not mine!) This represents countries in their correct proportional size, something that a lot of maps do not do. It achieves this by sacrificing shape, particularly in the areas closest to the poles. The result is an alternative and thought-provoking vision of our planet.

Best of all, in my point of view, these come in a myriad of colours. So they look smart as well as being smart. Now just need to figure out where I’m going to put mine in my rainbow flat!

Leave a little love...
