That really does look like happiness!! We are desperate for a cat but don’t really have any viable outside space. Is yours an indoor cat? If so, how do you find it?

Hey Meg. Both are our cats indoor types. The older one by choice (we gave her the option and she decided she didn’t like the outside world!) and the younger one is terrified of everything so she’s never shown any interest in going out!

We got both of them from shelters – one in Berwick upon Tweed and the other from East Kilbride (there were no kittens in Edinburgh). It was actually pretty tough getting them, the other half did a lot of phoning in order to find them (and there were a few near misses of cats we nearly got).

On the indoor thing… all the shelters and vets we spoke to on our search said they prefer you to keep the cats indoors (and some of them said they only give cats to people who are going to keep them indoors).

Any more questions, just give me a shout 😉

Thanks so much for the info! My family has always had cats but they have always had gardens to roam about in so I automatically assumed that might rule them out for us but more and more I am meeting people who have indoor cats that are very pro not letting cats out onto the street where they risk getting run over (sadly the fate of two of our much loved family cats so they may have a point). Maybe we will be able to get a couple of moggies after all. It is kitten season at our local shelter and I am very tempted to give them a call! 🙂

Ooh, I say do it! You’ll have to let us know if you get some. I wouldn’t swap ours for the world even if does feel like we do live with two fluffy weirdos!

I LOVE cats!! got our (family) cats from Battersea Cats’ home, had to pick one of them up in London, it was a good trip!!

How far is that from where you live Tina? Our oldest one wailed all the way home when we got her – and it was 1 hour and a half drive! I’m sure we had a bit of a nervous tic by the time we got home.

It is one of the nicest cat beds have ever seen (from the UK at least) – only prob is that it looks like we’re going to have get two as there’s been a bit of scrapping over it now! 😉

Oh my goodness we have twin cats! I had to do a double take when I saw this!

I think I probably need a Cath Kidston cat bed…

Ooh yours could be our cat’s twin… she did have one (but someone else had already ‘booked’ to take her). We always wondered what happened to that cat… if it’s as crazy as ours is, we’d always thought it would be hellish if it had gone to a little old granny! 😉

Leave a little love...
