Bathroom bother…

Arrrgh!

Sometimes no other word will do. Just discovered that the tiler that had been recommended to us is a little bit dear (to say the least!) so we’re currently on the case trying to track down another (who doesn’t think we’re made of money) for the start of next week.

Anyone done any tiling? I’ve done grouting before but never tiling… But I’m beginning to think it has to be easier than shelling out all that money? Right?

The only thing that’s calming me down is that it’s a good excuse to show you this wall art from Stitchface. Very cute and it’s reminding me to breathe a bit… (Renovation is bad for your health I swear!)

OOOh that really is awful. I hope you find a good one soon. No experience in tiling here, sorry. Wishing you the best! xo

i’ve never tiled no – but, i think if you wanted to (or were forced to through lack of funds) you could learn – is your boyfriend any good at DIY? and do either of you have exceedingly short tempers? depending on the answer to those questions, you could get a good DIY book from your library and give it a try.

this always happens to us whenever we endeavour to get someone to do any work for us, it turns out to be way more than we thought and becomes very stressful.

    bon chance!

We’re both relatively good at diy (but better at destruction than construction it has to be said though!) and we’re both pretty easy going (even if I am obsessive at the same time!) Currently us doing the tiling is option b… we’re getting a few quotes from people and depending on how much they come in at depends on whether I’ll be learning to tile this weekend! 😉

Tiling is quite easy if the walls are OK condition the only tricky bit is cutting them to fit, but if you can hire or borrow a cutter you should be ok, it was one of the first diy jobs I ever tried and it looked great, good luck x

That’s reassuring professorplum… will bear that in mind if we have to do it. (Have sourced a cutter so we’re good on that front!)

Oh no that’s so frustrating. I hate those situations when you’ve relied on someone and it doesn’t work out – you feel so helpless. I really hope it gets sorted.

The embroidery piece is so wonderful. All my favourite things in one place! Thanks for adding the link, all the stuff there is really inspiring.

Clare that’s exactly how I was feeling the other day… we have been very lucky with all our other tradesmen thankfully!

Leave a little love...
