Happy heart day…

12 Feb

So it’s Valentine’s Day on Sunday (just in case you’ve managed to miss the fact that the shop are full of cards, flowers and heart-shaped chocolates).

Perhaps bizarrely – especially since I’m happily engaged – I don’t really like Valentine’s Day.

It seems a bit strange that your ‘love’ should mean more on a particular day just because Hallmark says it should.

But perhaps that’s because all my days are ‘happy heart’ days… and I have an OH who likes to surprise me with silly things on random days for no real reason?

That said, it’s a good excuse to go away for the weekend… to ‘Paris of the North’! To buy something silly for the OH. And to get him a card from somewhere that isn’t Clinton Cards.

What’s your take on Valentine’s Day?

Hope you all have a happy heart day whatever you get up to x

Have never taken it seriously… This year my 5yr old daughter has turned it into a family event. Cake baking and card making. It’s much more fun now. A x

We don’t do Valentine’s day. I have a good marriage to a lovely man who does nice things for me anyway, so I see no point in it. Our anniversary says the same thing that Valentine’s doe, plus more and is ours.
